Why Make This?
Why did I make this blogging website in 2025?
There are already much better publishing platforms like Substack, Medium, Patreon, X, Instagram, and even God forbid, LinkedIn. It would also be easier to start posting on any one of these sites. Building a personal blog takes time and effort. And it’s so 2000s.
Yep, these are all true statements.
But where’s the fun in making your life easy 😂?
Honestly, as a frontend developer who cares about how things look and work, I still think it’s worthwhile to build something that’s completely my own. I can obsess over the site’s color, typesetting, and layout. I control and own all of my content, which are just Markdown files that I keep wherever I want. And at the end of the day, building stuff is fun.
Another reason is that all the cool kids are saying to build stuff out in the open. Document stuff. Write stuff that only seems to interest me. Build a personal brand. Provide real value. That’s how you’ll survive in a world of AI and curated sameness.
I get it.
Finally, from a professional perspective, this site is also my CV. If potential employers and clients want to hire me, they get see a more well-rounded perspective of me than from coding tests and 2-hour interviews. It shows my taste, my projects, and my warts. It provides my socials. So please contact me if you think there’s something I can do for you.
That’s why I’ve made this.
